Dried Grass and Hay

Guinea pigs consume a huge quantity of hay and it is a great source of roughage.  You should check your hay for thistles and mould before offering it to your guinea pigs.  Supplies are available from local pet shops, or if you want to buy in bulk, why not visit your local farm to see if you can purchase hay by the bale from them.

Another guinea pig favourite is “Readigrass”, again available from most pet shops.

Water

Fresh water should be available at all times.  I prefer to use water bottles as one or two of my pigs take great delight in tipping over their bowls, thus leaving a soggy mess if water is placed in a bowl!
